Just a quick link tonight. Earlier this week L'Oreal were forced to pull an ad campaign in the UK for using excessive airbrushing on Julia Roberts and Christy Turlington. The Advertising Standards Authority in the UK decided that the ads broke the rules for exaggeration, found them misleading, and banned them from being used again. Yay! It's a step in the right direction against an industry that simply creates insecurity for profit.
My link tonight is to a project called the Illusionists. A documentary type movie in the making about the influence that the beauty industry and the media have on our lives, and the obsession with physical perfection above all else.
Here's the link.
